I'm going to Mexico in December but how much will a passport cost, I'm 19 and a U.S. born citizen??? How soon do I have to get it and when I come back to the U.S., then go back to Mexico in May can I use the same one (maybe an extra fee) or do I have to get a new one??

Thanks

  1. When you get a passport, it is valid until the expiry date. You do not need to get one or pay a fee for it every time you travel.

Since you are planning on traveling in December, it would be wise to apply for it now, as there is a lot of backup. You can go to your local Post Office and apply there.

  2. You need a passport to enter Mexico by sea or air----if you are entering at a land border then you do not need one until June 2009.

A passport for a person over the age of 16 is currently valid for 10 years and costs 100$.

This website will give you all the info you need to apply.

  3. Why bother? If you insist on going to that cesspool called mexico, might I also insist that you protect yourself while you are there. I wish you the best, and recommend you pick a better spot to visit.
