Passport not received from US consulate?

Question

My husband applied for B1/B2 VISA as he wishes to attend an Insurance meet in the US in June.He was interviewed on 19th April.He has still not received his passport through courier.Whenever we call the VFS they say that they have yet not received the passport from the consulate.

.Our relative went to the consulate in Mumbai with the passport and receipt number but were advised that the passport must be held back.Does anyone have an idea whom should we contact reagrding this???and what do we do in such circumstances.

Applicants interviewed at the US Consulate, Mumbai

Applicants may receive their passport in all probability on the same evening of the interview and if not received, then the next working day. Most passports are returned within 2 -3  business days of the interview.
