My friends son damaged his USA passport, they said she needs notorized authorization from his father to get it replaced but his father is in another country where notorization costs $150 is there a way around this as I don't have $150 and I want to travel in 2 weeks.

Thanks

  1. The father can go to any US embassy or consulate and get a document notarized for far, far less than $150.  On top of that, you aren't going to get a passport in 2 weeks.

  2. where in the world you found out that a notorization cost 150 $ ?

it is not near that !

and no, you will not get a passport in less than 2 weeks , especially not in an Embassy ,the passport process is longer than that , sorry ,

  3. Yes the law is to prevent one parent from taking kids out of the country without the knowledge of the other. Good law

  4. Try to work through the US Consulate in the country his father is in. Maybe they can take a verbal attestation as long as the father is willing to have the passport renewed.
