if you are a resident of the united states and you have a passport from the country you were born in for example cuba, would i need to take out another passport from the united states to travel to another country thats not cuba

  1. no, but you'll probably need a visa.  Contact the country to which you are traveling, or their local consulate to find out.


  2. No, you can only get a passport from your country of citizenship.

    You can travel to any country with your Cuban passport, as long as that country allows Cubans to visit.  You may need a visa.  All of this is based on your citizenship.  Residency doesn't matter.

    You could, of course, become a US citizen and get a US passport, in which case countries would admit you according to their laws for Americans.
