Passports in europe?

Hey, if I fly to london, and take the eurotrain to french, I need a passport? I don't have any european passport.

  1. going to france via england with a us passport...then yes you must show your us passport on arrival in france


  2. You'll need a passport from whatever country you are from (the same passport you used when you flew into London), not a "European passport".

    You may also need a visa in your passport for France, depending again on which coutry you are from. If you're from the US, then you won't need a French visa.

    If you're British, you'll probably still need a passport (or driver's licence) since we don't have ID cards (yet!).

  3. EU nationals can travel from London to France (eurostar or plane, it doesn't matter) with a national ID card or a passport.

    If you are non-EU then you will require a passport - it doesn't have to be an EU one though, so I am not sure what you mean.  

    If you are non-EU and do not fall under the visa waiver program, you will also need a Schengen visa to visit France (and/or the rest of the Schengen area)
