Passports???

Question

I will going out of the country this summer and was wondering how long does it take to recieve my passport after I apply?

I this will be my first passport. I will be going to Europe for two weeks, fly back home for 2 days, and then flying up to Canada for three weeks.

Is there rush service? Is there a website for extra information?

From the U. S. State Department:

"At this time, we are processing routine applications within four to six weeks of receipt.  We are processing requests for expedited service within three weeks."

You better hurry and get it incase there is a problem. Also my son is in Canada now and the temp. is very cold as you know Take a down filled coat with you.

The passport service says currently that it is taking 4 to 6  weeks plus mailing time both ways to get a passport...so if you apply now, you should have no problem.  Youcan get your passport in 2 to 3 weeks if you pay the extra $60.00 AND the fees for express mail both ways.  see site below for ALL passport application info.
