Past Weekend went very well for former St. Louis Blues President John Davidson -NHL Update
For the St. Louis Blues former President of Hockey Operations, John Davidson, the past weekend well much better than he had hoped and according to the Columbus Dispatch, it just might be a hint towards him finalising a position with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
At the moment, there are no reported confirmation for Davidson in any position with the Blue Jackets, but the way he sounded while talking to the source, it seems like the announcement could be made at any moment now.
"It was a good weekend," Davidson told The Dispatch today via text message. "My wife and I were treated very well. All first class. No decisions yet, as this has been a whirlwind. This will be an important decision for myself, my family and for the Blue
Jackets. They have a great set-up there, and we were very impressed with the city."
While other sources are citing that the Columbus Blue Jackets are very close to making a deal final with the veteran executive, some have already gone to the extent of saying that an offer has been made and the smaller formalities are just being looked at
to confirm.
Blue Jackets president Mike Priest, though a spokesperson, said:
"We enjoyed the time we spent with John and Diana this weekend and look forward to speaking with him again very soon."
After leaving the St. Louis Blues earlier this month, Davidson seems to be looking for a challenge once again like he did when joining them a few seasons back. Surprisingly, for many fans, his prior statement on how he thinks that the Blue Jackets are in
much better shape than the Blues were when he joined them, really boosts hope for them as they hope to bring home the Stanley Cup championship one day.
Columbus Blue Jackets have failed miserably in their attempts to do so in the past as they have made the playoffs just once in the past decade and are trying to make the most of the offseason and lockout as much as they can to revamp the team for the better.
An announcement from Columbus or Davidson should be expected in the upcoming days.
