when i was around 12 or 13( im now 19) i did pot with my friends about 3 or 4 times in one month, ever since i have not done anything(even alcohol) until now, i smoked some cigars in moderation(NOT ciggerates) but ya thats all. im planning to join the military and become and officer by applying to an academy. if they ask me if i experimented with pot i will say yes honestly but what will they think of me? i mean i was young and stupid then, i completely changed after all that. i made new friends and concentrated more on school and sports. will they accept me anyway???

  1. Mum, is the word.  They have no way of knowing that information unless you freely give it.  Yeah, so you did it, you haven't since, and it sure as h**l isn't gonna show up in a urine or a blood test.  They would have to test your spinal fluid, and that is just to much money for them to HAVE to do it to everybody that goes thru the MEPS station.  Just check NO, and leave it at that.

  2. They won't hold that against you. There is an alarming rate of people who become alcoholics and addicts AFTER they serve in the Armed Forces.

  3. i don't think that they will hold your past drug use against you because you're so much older, more responsible and much more mature. Good luck!!!

  4. LISTEN CAREFULLY, if there is no record showing you ever did drugs (arrest or other) then keep it to yourself, dont tell anyone and for gods sake leave it out of the paper work.

  5. i always say honesty is the best,  but only meps will ask this question  after that you will never be asked again  so either way it don't matter

  6. Do not admit to anything!!!  If you tell them it may limit your opportunities.        If everyone admitted to smoking pot as a teen to their recruiter our military would be a h**l of a lot smaller.

What do you mean "maybe" pass the drug test?

  7. Treat the military like a potential girlfriend and tell them what they want to hear and nothing more.
