I was taking a homeopathic remedy..and it brought my past life to surface...I was a nurse who was raped in my past life...which is weird because I got accepted to the nursing program here, but decided to go into dental hygiene instead...it's like my spirit knew...

I believe in past lives... My ancient life was in Egypt, then another around the Mediterranean coast of Spain, then as a homesteader in late18th century America, where I died young (20's).   My boyfriend was accidently drowned in Italy by his brother in a past life (which is why he is afraid of water)

I'm not sure if you only wanted personal experiences or not but I thought I would add some information anyway. First, I do not recall anything about a past life (or lives).

Second, there is a book called "Twenty Cases Suggestive of Reincarnation" by Dr. Ian Stevenson that you might find interesting. Dr. Stevenson (RIP) worked for many years studying this phenomena at the University of Virginia his work continues at http://www.healthsystem.virginia.edu/int...

A friend of mine on holiday as a child told his parents he recognised the town they were visiting although he had never been there before. He knew the lay out of the town, where the cinema was etc. Maybe he was remembering a past life.

Since this is under the Science & Math category, I'll answer scientifically. No one remembers "past lives". The concept is a religious one and there's no natural evidence for it. So-called memories of past lives are no more than dreams, wishful thinking and the power of suggestion.

And anybody has the right to answer any question. That's part of the deal.

It's one thing to come to a science forum and ask utterly unscientific questions.  After all, someone in all their wisdom and sense of intellectual fair play decided to put "alternative/parapsychology" under science and mathematics.  But then for you to try to limit answers only to those who believe in your premise?

  Pardon me, but...there is no decent evidence whatsoever to suggest the existence of past lives.  This is probably because such a thing is physically impossible, and the supernatural doesn't exist.  In other words, there's no such thing as past lives.  

  So, fortunately I broke your rule because if no one did, you would never get a correct answer, only ones that tickle your fancy.  But thanks for demonstrating why so many people believe in nonsense.

I believe in one past life I lived in India, in another all I remember is the ocean, and lots of it. I wouldn't say what I know about my past lives can be considered "memories", they are almost told to me. It's all really foggy but gets more vivid as I'm older. It's all really hard to explain to people.

Yes, I actually do.  Of course I was under hypnosis and the lady taped the session.  She did NOT make suggestions to me and she just kept asking me what was my name, the year, my age, what I saw around me and what was I doing.

Come to find out, one of my past lives was Diana...and my temple still stands...or at least what's left of it.  But I was the Diana of Rome and not the Diana of Greece.  There is a difference.  In fact, the Roman Tribune I was in love with and supposed to marry died with me during the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius, in Pompeii.  I remember as a child, I saw a picture of Vesuvius in an old encyclopedia and I was terrified of it and started to cry uncontrollably.  My mom and dad came rushing over and asked me what was wrong.  I told them I was afraid of that mountain.  They asked me 'why' and I told them "I don't know, I don't know, but I'm scared."  When my dad looked at the picture, he said to my mother, "It's Mt. Vesuvius.  The photo itself was in a brown color (this was way back before color pictures were put in encyclopedias and it was only on the cover.  My dad had to look it up, actually for the explanation of the cover photos.  I was only 6 years old and couldn't even pronounce it or read that well, at that time...so there was no way I would have known what happened on or to that mountain.

However, the good news is I've found out 'who' he is now, in his current life and I plan on meeting him one day.  I hadn't made any realizations of him in the past, and then one day, when I looked into the depth of his eyes, I knew it was him.  (I've seen photo's of him)  

I could tell it was him because earlier on I had decided that after two failed marriages there would not be another.  I didn't want anything to do with dating anyone...AT ALL.  Then one evening, while I sat here and saw that photo I totally fell apart; my knees got weak, and I felt this unbelievable longing to spend the rest of my life with him.

But, that's at sometime in the future.  There were other past lives that I've had, but they were rather boring next to that one.

I remember several of my past lives.

About 15,000 years ago I lived in Atlantis, about 1000 years ago I was a Yakima indian brave that was killed in a buffalo stampede.

About 700 years I was a Cathar when the Cathars were forced to walk into a pyre. I was unable to walk into the fire as the others had, and a dog ripped out my throat and I died there next to the fire.

About 500 years ago I was a kahuna in Hawai'i.

Memories of Revolutionary War era in which my current boyfriend was my husband.  I was aware that my current affection and connection to him were greater than the situation should have warranted.  The memories came later and explained a lot for me about our relationship.  It still is not easy, and I'm not entirely sure what all the issues are that we are addressing this time around.  Sometimes it is scary and painful as well as comfortable and satisfying.  The brief memories of the past seem to have been more comfortable than current time.  But then this is still a work in progress.
