Pastor Maldonado aims good results in last two races of 2012 – Formula 1 news
Williams’ driver Pastor Maldonado has said that they are hoping to attain good results in the last two races of the 2012 Formula 1 season.
Maldonado claimed his maiden victory in the Spanish Grand Prix and scored win for his team after quite a long time. However, he has struggled in most of the races in the season so far and has faced immense criticism over his aggressive driving style due
to which many accidents have been caused.
Nevertheless, he seemed very strong in the Abu Dhabi GP. After performing quite convincingly in the qualifying at Yas Marina Circuit, he secured an impressive fifth place finish in the race.
Even though, he successfully scored reasonable points for his team in the preceding race, but he still believed that he could have won, if he hadn’t faced an issue in his KERS.
The Venezuelan driver said that Red Bull Racing and McLaren seem to be the strongest contender now, but insisted that nothing can be predicted about the last two grands prix as the competition is very tough and everyone is pushing really hard.
In addition, he said that they have made some essential improvements in their car and are targeting to secure good positions in the next two races.
“Red Bull is quite strong and even McLaren at the moment, but anything can happen,” he told ESPN when asked if another win is possible before the end of the season. “Our objective is to put car in top ten and as close to podium as we can. Our car is very
consistent and quick during races and further we start up the grid the better it is for us.”
Besides, he said that they are trying very hard to keep on making the essential step-ups in their car to perform well in the remainder of the season.
“We are working so hard and we show everyone that we are back again to be very strong with two cars in the points [in Abu Dhabi] - it's very positive,” he added.
Let’s see how he performs in the remaining two race of the current season.
