Pastor Maldonado hopes for a strong weekend in Silverstone – Formula 1 News
Williams’ driver, Pastor Maldonado, has said that they are hoping for a strong weekend in Silverstone and are aiming to score some good points with their updated car.
Maldonado has not been able to score even a single point in the first seven races of the season and has failed to come up to the expectations of his fans. On the other hand, his teammate, Valtteri Bottas, has also remained unable
to pocket any points in the season until now. Although, the Finnish driver delivered an amazing performance in the qualifying of the Canadian Grand Prix, he failed to score even a single point in the race and could only secure 14th place finish.
Nevertheless, the Venezuelan driver has insisted that they are not feeling disappointed and are positively looking forward to perform well in the British GP. He also said that Silverstone circuit is one of his favourite tracks
in the F1 calendar because of its iconic turns and he has always enjoyed the love and support from his British fans.
“This weekend has been something that the team have been looking forward to all year and I’m proud to be part of this historic moment. Silverstone also happens to be one of my favourite circuits on calendar. It has a lot of character
and some very iconic corners, and British fans are always very passionate and knowledgeable,” he said.
In addition, he said that they are targeting to introduce some essential developments in their car to improve its pace in order to compete well with their rivals in the upcoming races.
“The new part of the track is still very green with less grip which is something you have to bear in mind when behind the wheel. Hopefully we can have a strong weekend and score some points to make weekend even more memorable for
team,” he added.
The competition is expected to be even tougher in the season ahead as all the contenders are making some significant developments to enhance their pace. It will be thrilling to see how the Grove based squad performs in the approaching
races.
