Pastor Maldonado hopes to do better in 2013 – Formula 1 news
Williams’ driver Pastor Maldonado has said that he will surely do better if he is provided with a race seat in his current team for 2013.
Maldonado has faced a lot of criticism over his aggressive driving style and has struggled in most of the race in the current season until now. Moreover, he has not been able to attain competitive results for his team and there are chances that he may be
replaced in the next season.
It will be important to mention that the executive director of the Grove based team, Toto Wolff has recently said that they have not finalised their next year’s driver line-up until now and are evaluating some options.
Furthermore, he said that they may replace Maldonado or Bruno Senna, in the coming year with their test driver, Valtteri Bottas who has performed incredibly well in the Young Driver Test.
Even though, the Venezuelan driver’s place is stronger in the team as he has brought a big sponsor with him and has a personal backing of the founder and team principal, Frank Williams. However, he is still doubtful about his future in the team.
Nevertheless, he has assured that he will try to deliver better performance in the next season if he is given another chance to race with the British squad.
“I passed two wonderful years with the team, I won my first race with the team in my second year and I really appreciate that the team give me a great responsibility as the first driver, driving the first car of the team,” he said.
“I think I did pretty well. I could do better and I hope and I am 100% sure that next year will be much better than this year; not only from the driving points of view but also from the team point of view of being much more compact and working in the right
direction,” he added.
Besides, he said that he has developed a very good relationship with his team and he thinks that they can win championship titles in the future. Additionally, he said that he really wants to continue his career with Williams and is hoping to secure his race
seat for the next year.
