Pastor Maldonado hopes to fight back in 2012 Indian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Williams’ driver Pastor Maldonado has said that they are hoping to fight back in the 2012 Indian Grand Prix despite facing difficulties in the preceding race held at Korea International Circuit.
Maldonado and his teammate, Bruno Senna struggled during the Korean GP and failed to score any points for their team. The Grove based squad seemed very disappointed over their poor result in the last race as they lost some crucial points in the championship.
Nevertheless, the 27-year-old has said that they have found the necessary solutions for the issues which they faced in the previous race and are aiming to hit back in the remainder of the season.
Furthermore, he said that they are trying their best to come up stronger in this weekend’s race and are targeting to attain good points.
“We've been working very hard, especially on the last race to identify where the problems were,” said Maldonado on Thursday in India. “We saw the problem. We've been working on that and I hope here will be much better for us than Korea.”
Besides, he said that the competition is very tough as all the contenders are making the essential preparations for the approaching races. Therefore, he said that they really need to perform well in the qualifying so as to be able to secure higher grid positions
for the race ahead in order to achieve the desired result.
“It will be difficult as well, because all teams are pushing very hard. The cars are very close, especially to get into Q3, but that's our mission. We need to push hard and try to put the car in top ten in qualifying. That would be great for us. And then
to be in the points would be perfect,” he added.
It will be important to mention that although he claimed an incredible victory in the Spanish GP and became the first ever Venezuelan driver to score a grand prix win in F1. However, other than that, he has struggled in almost all the races in the season
so far.
