Pastor Maldonado hopes to perform well in 2013 – Formula 1 news
Williams’ driver Pastor Maldonado has said that he is hoping to perform well in the 2013 Formula 1 season in order to prove his potential in the sport.
The Grove based team has recently announced its next year’s driver line-up which includes Maldonado and Valtteri Bottas. The Finnish driver has replaced Bruno Senna who has not been able to attain good results for his team in this season.
Even though, the Venezuelan driver has also struggled a lot with his pace and has failed to achieve desired results for his team. Nevertheless, he has scored an incredible win in the Spanish Grand Prix and brought the British squad their first victory since
2004.
In addition, it is to be noted that he has a backing of a huge sponsor which has made his position stronger as compared to the Brazilian driver.
The 27-year-old has said that he has developed a very good relationship with his team and is extremely happy over the one-year contract extension. He also said that he has achieved the maiden victory of his career in this season which he will always cherish
in his life ahead.
Besides, he said that he is going to try his best to come up to the expectations of his team and fans in the next season. Additionally, he asserted that he is looking forward to score better results in the coming year.
“I'm really enjoying my time with Williams and I was obviously very happy when I was told that I would be continuing with the team in 2013. 2012 was a memorable year for me with the win in Barcelona and we made a big step forward in terms of performance,”
Maldonado said. “I have a lot of confidence in the team and hopefully next year will see us move even further up the grid and taste more success.”
On the other hand, Bottas has also expressed his gratitude towards the British team for giving him the opportunity to compete in F1.
“I'm looking forward to getting my Formula One career started and enjoying a lot of success with Williams,” Bottas said.
