Pastor Maldonado is ready to strike back in 2012 British Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Williams’ driver Pastor Maldonado has said that he is ready to strike back in 2012 British Grand Prix which is to be held at Silverstone Circuit on July 8.
Maldonado took an incredible victory in the Spanish GP at Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona after starting from the pole position and emerged as the fifth different winner of the current season. Moreover, he became the first ever Venezuelan driver to win an F1 race.
Even though, he has not been able to score even a single point in the last three grands prix. Nevertheless, he is not disappointed and is confidently looking forward to perform well in the approaching race.
Furthermore, he believes that the track of the next race will suit their car because the conditions are very much similar to that of Barcelona.
In addition, he said that they have been trying their best to make the necessary advancements and the essential preparations so as to improve the pace of their car for the upcoming race in order to make their position stronger in this year’s championship. He also said that they have planned to launch some major updates in the British GP which will hopefully provide them with a competitive edge.
“The British Grand Prix is always very special for the whole team and the support we get here is amazing with some of the most knowledgeable fans in the world,” Maldonado said. “I think the track will suit our car because it's similar to Barcelona and it's also very fun to drive with sections like Maggots and Becketts which really test you as a driver. The pace of the car in Valencia was very promising and we have a number of updates expected for this race as well so hopefully we can give the home fans a good result.”
At present, he is standing at 10th place in the drivers’ championship with 29 points. Besides, he is just 2 points ahead of Paul di Resta of Force India and 10 points behind Sergio Perez of Sauber-Ferrari. Over and above, it will be very interesting to see how he performs in the season ahead.
