Pastor Maldonado looks forward to perform well in 2012 German GP – Formula 1 news
Williams’ driver Pastor Maldonado has said that he is positively looking forward to perform well in 2012 German Grand Prix which is to be held at Hockenheimring on July 22.
Maldonado could not pocket even a single point in the British GP at Silverstone Circuit as he came 16th after setting off from 7th grid position. Even though, he is very much upset over his poor performance in the preceding race, nonetheless,
he expressed that he is aiming to come up stronger in the approaching race so as to attain good result for his team.
“The German fans who visit Hockenheim create a good atmosphere, particularly in the final few corners with the big grandstands, so it's a fun circuit to drive,” Maldonado said. “The final sector is also challenging with lots of corners coming quickly after
each other where time can be won or lost. I'm disappointed to not have scored points in the last race but our car is showing that it can compete at different circuits so I'm feeling confident heading into this weekend.”
Currently, he is standing at 10th place in the drivers’ championship with 29 points. Furthermore, he is 10 points behind Sergio Perez of Sauber and just 2 points ahead of Paul di Resta of Force India.
Although, he could only score 4 points in the first four grands prix, nevertheless, he delivered an excellent performance in the Spanish GP at Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona and took his maiden victory after taking a start from the front of the grid.
Moreover, it will be important to mention that he became the first ever Venezuelan driver who won a race in F1. Conversely, he has been unable to score any points in the last four races, however, he is focussing to strike back in the races ahead.
Meanwhile, the British team is at 7th place in the constructors’ championship with 47 points. Besides, they are ahead of Force India and behind their main rival, Sauber.
Over and above, they are hoping to bounce back in the upcoming races to make their position stronger in the midfield battle.
