Pastor Maldonado says victory is possible in 2012 Monaco Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Williams’ driver Pastor Maldonado says that they are capable enough of achieving victory in 2012 Monaco Grand Prix which is to be held at Circuit de Monaco in Spain on May 27.
Maldonado claimed his first ever victory in 2012 Spanish Grand Prix held at Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona. Moreover, it will be important to mention that it is the first win of the British team since 2004.
The Venezuelan driver is feeling confident after winning the last race and said that they will make the best of the efforts to be at the front in the race ahead.
Even though, he said that they don’t have the most competitive car yet they will try their best to win the forthcoming race.
“For sure we will do our best,” he was quoted by Sky Sports. “As you see, all the teams are so close - the championship is so close - at the moment the gap is so close as well. But I need to say that we are getting better and better every time. At the moment
we don't have the quickest car on the track but we are doing our best and why not? Formula One is changing every time. It's going to be difficult but for sure we will try again.”
In addition, he said that he is getting the best opportunities to improve his performance as an F1 driver. He also said that he has learned from the mistakes which he has committed in the past while he said that he is aiming to perform well in the upcoming
races.
At present, he is standing at 9th position in the drivers’ championship with 29 points. Additionally, he is 6 points behind Romain Grosjean of Lotus and 7 points ahead of Sergio Perez of Sauber-Ferrari.
On the other hand, Williams are at 6th place in the constructors’ rankings with 43 points and have emerged as one of the most competent contenders in the season so far. Over and above, they are looking forward to make the necessary developments and the significant
preparations to enhance the pace of their car for the approaching season.
