Pat Barry sets to face Christian Morecraft at UFC on FX – UFC News
American mixed martial art (MMA) fighter Pat Barry will face his fellow compatriot, Christian Morecraft, when the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) host UFC on FX on January 20th, 2012 in Nashville,
Tennessee. Both fighters will face each other in the heavyweight bout, which was announced in mid-November and the UFC on FX would be an event they will eye a victory.
32-year-old Barry is desperately looking for a win at present. At UFC on FX, he will try to spin things around and earn a victory to keep his career alive with UFC. He lost to French MMA fighter, Cheick Kongo,
at UFC Live in June 2011 and then to Stefan Struve of the Netherlands in October 2011.
On the other hand, Morecraft has a fairly better MMA career. He lost two bouts in the last three he contested from August 2010 to June 2011. His last defeat came at the hands of Matt Mitrione at UFC Live event
held in June 2011.For the two fighters, the heavyweight bout at UFC on FX came as good news, since a win at the event can give them a possible title bout in the future.
When UFC announced the bout, it was pleasant news for the UFC and MMA fans as well, for they want to witness the two fighters lock hands for the first time. Barry made his professional MMA debut in May 2008
and has won six bouts with four losses. He did has a good run in the beginning of his career but won a single encounter out of the three fights he contested this year. Morecraft also had an unbeaten run when he entered into the MMA but could not maintain his
winning impetus in the fight to come later.
UFC on FX or FX 1 can prove to be an interesting event where both the fighters can make an impact inside the UFC octagon. Apart from the Barry vs. Morecraft fight, the welterweight bout for the night is set between
Duane Ludwig and Josh Neer while the lightweight clash is set between Melvin Guillard and Jim Miller.
