The Australian teen sensation, Pat Cummins, is confident of wearing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dale-c52110 Steyn’s boots, and said that he is hopeful of becoming a dangerous bowler like the South African speed star.
Following his phenomenal performance over the last few months, Cummins was brought into the Aussie Test squad despite criticism that he is too young for the longest version of the game.
He missed the opening Test against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/PM-Siddle-c2197 were selected in the playing XI at Cape Town.
However, following an ordinary show by the duo, the 18-year-old is expected to earn the baggy green and become the youngest Aussie cricketer to find his feet in the tradition form of the sport.
Dismissing all the concerns over his suitability for Test cricket, Cummins stated that he is geared up to show his magic in the 5-day game.
On his strategy to be a successful bowler in the longest format, the young quick insisted that he can become Australia’s replica of the South African speed merchant, Steyn.
"I hope I am a similar bowler (to Steyn). He's unbelievable, he's just about the best bowler in the world at the moment, he's incredible," said Cummins who is a big fan of Steyn’s bowling skills.
Having played just three first-class matches, the Aussie rookie bowler does not have any notable experience of the longest design of the game.
Yet, the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-South-Wales-c823 pacer is optimistic of producing something wonderful in the Tests, as he has been working extremely hard on his game these days.
"I think just watching the last few games and training hard over the last few weeks, I've started to become closer to being ready. I guess you never really know until you're out there and bowling but hopefully if I do get the chance it will be a good support
group around the side and they will make me feel comfortable," added the Sydney-born seamer who has grabbed 10 wickets so far in his five-game-old international career.
At New Wanderers Stadium Johannesburg, the second and the final clash of the series will begin on November 17, 2011.
