Australia’s teenage speedster Pat Cummins has been ruled out of the upcoming Indian series, as recent scans on his heel have revealed that the injury he sustained during the Johannesburg Test against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 was of a serious concern.
Earlier, it was expected that the young pacer will return to action during his side’s ongoing Test series against New Zealand.
He was not a part of the 12-member squad for the first match of the series, but aimed to be back in the playing eleven for the final Test.
However, things did not turn out to be as planned for Cummins and he will have to wait for his comeback longer than expected.
According to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Alex-Kountouris-c43123, “As such we arranged for him to see a foot specialist and had further scans that have identified a bone component to his injury that was not evident on the original scans. We now believe that Patrick
has a bone stress injury as well as the 'fat pad' injury.”
Kountouris was still hopeful that Cummins will be able to recover during the Indian series and might be seen in action in the third Test of the four match series.
However, Cricket Australia (CA) ruled out any chances of the 18-year-old returning to action against the Men in Blue.
