  1. Although my son is in the process of being evaluated/assessed yet again (4 years in the making), and hasn't been formally diagnosed, these are what he has experienced as far as symptoms:

    Sensory Integration Dysfunction

Inability to understand Non Verbal Cues

    Lacks Empathy

Cannot cope with changes in routine

Takes sarcasm literally/cannot understand some jokes

Speaks very formally, not like a typical 7 year old

    Often has one sided conversations

    Becomes overstimulated very easily/distracts easily

    Extremely poor handwriting

Lacks view of the "big picture"

Just to name a few.  Currently our treatment plan includes medication for an array of additional disorders, however medication is only a supplement to our daily routine.  Working with our son, is a daily activity, and requires one on one interaction.  With all of our knowledge, and research thus far, there is not ONE thing that seems to be successful.  We will always be on this quest!  I will always be my son's voice, and some day, some how, a miracle of sorts will find me!

    Good Luck!
