Paternity leave???

Question

My partner just recently started working at his new job last Friday. He is full time- but it is a 3 months probationary period.

Is he entitled to any leave when our baby is born in 4 weeks or can they just say no because he only just started.

We also cant risk him getting fired.

What do we do?

most places make you wait a year before you can use paternity leave.  at least paid paternity leave, he might be able to get unpaid leave..

have him talk to his boss or who ever if they let them know ahead of time. i'm sure they won't have a problem with it.
