Patient Family Housing

My fiancee is being transported from Port Huron Hospital, Port Huron, MI to William Beaumont Hospital, In Royal Oak, Michigan for emergency surgery, from injuries from a chemical explosion. The housing offered by the hospital is full. Does anyone know if medical Ins would cover any extended stay -motel-hotel-etc, or has anyone used thistype of service, provided by any other facility/idea/.Hotels are costly, as it will be a week or more...and gas prices make driving 50 miles out of the question..sorry for sounding so irratic, I hope you understand.

Talk with a hospital social worker about your situation. They may be able to arrange for you stay at a local hotel for free or at a reduced rate for the week. When my dad was int he hospital some years ago, my mom, brother, and I were able to stay at motel across the street for free because of the emergency situation.
