Pato takes a shot at Leonardo
AC Milan’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alexandre-Pato-c4901 has taken a shot at his former boss Leonardo by saying that he would never even consider a move to rivals Inter Milan.
Leonardo was recently announced as the Inter Milan manager following the departure of Rafael Benitez from the club. The Brazilian’s appointment as the new http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 boss came just five months after he resigned from his managerial post at AC Milan.
Leonardo has quite a history with the Rossoneri. He was with the Italian giants for five seasons during his playing days, and was the manager for the team for the 2009/10 campaign. Leonardo was reasonably successful with AC Milan while in charge at the club,
but his achievements were completely overshadowed by Inter Milan’s historic treble that season. A falling out with AC Milan’s president led to his eventual resignation from the club last summer.
Last month, he made the switch to rivals Inter Milan. It is widely believed that Inter President Massimo Moratti appointed Leonardo to rile Milan fans; however, he insists that the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 international was chosen solely for his tactical ability.
Now AC Milan’s Pato has spoken out about his former manager’s decision to join Inter. The Brazilian claimed there was no chance of him jumping ship to AC Milan’s long-standing city rivals. Pato said, I just want to win with this jersey, which I will wear
as long as the club wants me to. Would I go to Inter? No, never. I only want Milan.”
However, he said that he understood the reasoning for Leonardo’s move. The Brazil international told the press, “This is a profession, Leonardo made a decision and we respect that.”
Pato went on to praise new AC Milan tactician Massimiliano Allegri. Speaking on Allegri’s impact at the club, Pato said, “The coach deserves to be at Milan, as he is a great manager and we are all happy. He talks to everybody and helps them all out. We want
to win for him. I do what he asks me to, which is to sacrifice myself to help the side.”
AC Milan are well on their way to regaining the Serie A crown from Inter Milan. The Rossoneri currently at the summit of the League table, four points clear of their nearest competitors and 11 points clear of Inter.
