Patrice Evra: Anderson needs to keep performing
In form Manchester United midfielder Anderson may have hit top form this season however, left back Patrice Evra expects Anderson to maintain this level for the entire year, and not just on a weekly basis.
Since his arrival at the club from Porto in 2007, Anderson had a lot of hype surrounding him. The player had undeniable talent but was inconsistent in his performances. In some matches he would shine the brightest, but in some, he would just be a very ordinary
player on the pitch.
French left back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrice-Evra-c29231 appreciated Anderson’s current form but claimed that the Brazilian would have to keep performing like this for the entire year rather than 3 or 4 games.
"The most important thing is not three or four games, you need to play like this every year. He has a big talent, it's three years now he's played for United and the club has shown the confidence they have in him with a new contract, and he needs to show
on the pitch that he deserves that,” claimed Patrice Evra.
Evra praised the player’s performance against Sunderland but wasn’t surprised as Anderson has always been a quality player.
"He put in a fantastic performance [against Sunderland], but I'm not surprised about Anderson. I always believed in him and I hope now he will keep having that type of game every game," stated the French left back.
Anderson was unpleasant when his number came up for substitution, which showed his true passion and desire to contribute for Manchester United. But it was a wise decision from Sir Alex Ferguson, who is smart enough to not burn out the No 8 and get the best
out of him in fixtures to come.
United are currently heading into a festive part of the season, where they play 5 fixtures in the span of 15 days. Young players like Anderson would need to step up and replace the tired and old legs of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ryan-Giggs-c31985 and Paul Scholes, who may well be in their
last season.
United lacked a quality midfielder and looked hopeless every time they were without the services of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-Scholes-c29394 at the start of the season. Yet, with Anderson finally finding form, funds may not have to be splashed to bring in a quality midfielder.
