Patrice Evra claims Manchester United players are responsible for the loss to Arsenal
Manchester United’s French left-back, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrice-Evra-c29231, has gone on to contradict his manager’s words by claiming that it was the players’ fault that the Red Devils lost to Arsenal and not the referees.
Alex Ferguson was infuriated with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Foy, the official in the game at the Emirates, this past Sunday, since he denied United a penalty in the dying stages of the game.
The manager went on to state that United never got decisions like those in big games but that was a clear foul and a penalty no matter what angle you look at it.
On the other hand, Evra seems to be taking a completely different route to the proceedings, as he states that the Red Devils just didn’t play the United way and due to their poor performance in the game, they didn’t deserve a win in the first place.
Evra is quoted to have said, "There were some difficult decisions but I don't want to talk about the referee. The problem was Man United, not the referee. It is easy to find some excuse. We did not play the Man United way and when we don't play the Man United
way, we don't deserve anything".
Prior to the game against Arsenal, United was being considered the run-away leaders in the Premier League. The Red Devils had a nine point lead from third placed Arsenal and a six point advantage over Chelsea.
However those numbers have significantly reduced and now only three points separate Chelsea and United, which means that United have not won the league this season as yet.
When talking about the upcoming game against Chelsea, Evra is reported to have said, "We have a massive game against Chelsea, If we want to win the title then we have to beat Chelsea - it's as simple as that. If we don't beat them, then we'll be in trouble”.
It is easy to see what Evra was basing his comments on. This is not only because Arsenal won the game, but since they did so by dominating United in almost every area on the pitch.
Despite boasting a highly inexperienced squad, whose average age was just over twenty three years, the Gunners went on to dominate possession, have more shots on target and even win more tackles.
This just goes to show, that either the United players were taking the Gunners for granted or that they have been unusually lucky so far this season.
Nonetheless, the players are going to have to bounce back from this loss if they are to beat http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. Otherwise the title could slip out of the Red Devils reach, despite being under their nose for so long.
