Patrice Evra considers Arsenal to be a crisis team
Arsenal are currently set to be going into this weekend’s fixtures as the new leaders of the Premier League. This is of course due to the fact that the team went on to beat Fulham by a score line of two goals to one, while Manchester United who are now second
in the league, saw their game against Blackpool get delayed due to bad weather.
However it seems like despite Arsenal being in such a convincing position in the league, Patrice Evra isn’t buying any of it. The player is reported to be not very wary of threat that the Gunners possess, as he feels that Arsene Wenger and Arsenal are too
busy playing attractive football, to actually end up winning anything.
The side back is reported to have said the following in an interview: "For me, Arsenal is a football training centre. You watch the match, you enjoy it, but are you going to win a title afterwards? That's what people remember.
"It has been five years since they won anything and for a big club like Arsenal, that is a crisis."
The player is reported to have said this despite the fact that a victory in the game would see the Gunners get a four point lead on United and assure the North London team a spot on top for at least another week regardless of whether Chelsea win or lose
against Tottenham.
Evra then went on to mention how Arsenal’s season was decided when the team lost to Tottenham at home, after taking a two goal lead in the first half. He stated that if a team can’t hold on to such a lead then it is safe to say that they might not really
win anything.
Evra then added that despite Chelsea not performing so good over the course of the last couple of weeks, they were still the main threat to United this season. He added that Chelsea were just going through a rough patch and once the key players returned
for the side, they would be back to their best.
Evra then concluded by stating that he appreciated Arsenal’s flamboyant displays, but those displays were the very cause for the team being so unsuccessfully over the recent years. He then ended by referring to the team’s meeting in the Champions League
semi-final in 2009 and stated that match was nothing more than:"11 men against 11 boys."
