Patrice Evra to stay with Manchester United for now
Manchester United's Patrice Evra has revealed that he will wait until the end of the 2010-11 Barclays Premier League season before contemplating his future at Old Trafford.
Evra has recently been linked with a move away from the Premier League. It was speculated that Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho was looking to bring the left-back to the Bernabeu. However, the player's agent Federico Pastorelo insists that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrice-Evra-c29231
has no intention of leaving Manchester United in the January transfer window.
Patrice Evra joined Manchester United back in the summer of 2006 for a reported fee of 5.5 million pounds. He was an immediate hit at the club, and quickly established himself as a mainstay in the starting eleven. The French international has made 154 appearances
for United so far, and it doesn't look like he has any plans of vacating his hard earned place in Sir Alex Ferguson's squad.
Evra's agent Federico Pastorelo has claimed that his client is fully focused on helping the Red Devils to their 19th Premier League crown, saying that the French international will decide his future after the end of the 2010-11 season. Pastorelo also revealed
that, contrary to reports, no club has so far tried to lure Patrice Evra away from Old Trafford.
Evra's agent said, "No, there is nothing really to report on Patrice (Evra). There has been interest, and I have read about Real Madrid but really the only official interest was from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan last summer."
The defender's contract with Manchester United runs until 2012, but Evra's agent said that the left-back will decide in the summer whether or not he wants to extend his time with the Red Devils.
Pastorelo added, "We had a long chat with (United manager) Sir Alex Ferguson and it was decided he would stay in Manchester. His contract runs out in the summer of 2012 and there he is concentrating and focused on this season. We will sit down in the summer
with Manchester United and decide whether he will extend his contract or move on. But for the moment there is nothing special to say on the situation."
