Patrick ‘The Predator’ Cote is making his comeback in UFC. Contrary to the usual, Cote has been scheduled for a mega-bout against Cung Le, as his comeback fight. While most fighters strive hard to get such an opportunity, Cote believes he is lucky to step
into the ring with a talented fighter like Cung Le.
In his recent interview, Cote commented on his match with Cung Le. He asserted, “I didn't expect to be back in the UFC with this kind of fight.”
Further expressing his excitement, The Predator added, “It's a huge fight, a huge card, a huge pay-per-view. It's going to be good. I'm very thankful for the UFC for bringing me back in a big fight like this. We were waiting for a late replacement or an
injury. But like I said, we didn't expect to have a big fight right away.”
When asked about his opponent, Cote iterated, “It's always fun to fight another striker who is not afraid to stay on his feet. Cung Le's going to give me a lot of problems. He's a good kicker ... he does spinning back-kicks and spinning back-fists. He's
dangerous all the time.”
Cote is scheduled to face Cung Le on July 7 at UFC 148 in Las Vegas. The fight between Chael Sonnen and Anderson Silva will headline the event. Other fights in the show include Urijah Faber vs. Renan Barao and Forrest Griffin vs. Tito Ortiz.
According to Cote, the only way to beat Le is to keep him under pressure throughout the bout. He added that he needs to bring the momentum to the fight to keep Le in the loop. Furthermore, Cote believes this is his opportunity and he wants to put on an impressive
performance. Asked when he will be ready for the big day and The Predator said he is always ready to fight whether it is today or tomorrow.
Cote revealed that he was already preparing for a fight, as he believed the call could come any day. Now, Patrick Cote believes he needs to boost up a bit to take on a fighter like Cung le.
