Patrick Hyland leads the Irish Invasion card – Boxing News
Unbeaten Irish pugilist Patrick Hyland is scheduled to fight the main bout of the ‘Irish Invasion’ card. Hyland’s opponent has not been decided yet, however it is confirmed that his bout will be headlining the card being presented by Final Round Promotions
along with Bob Duffy’s Ring Promotions and Team Snooki Boxing. The event will take place at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, New York on May 12.
Hyland, who currently stands with 25 wins, 0 loss and 11 knockouts in his portfolio, is the currently World Boxing Federation super featherweight champion. He previously held the International Boxing Federation International and Irish featherweight title
along with holding International Boxing Association Inter-Continental super featherweight titles. He is currently considered among the best young pugilists in the world and North American Boxing Association rates him No. 12 for his achievements.
Hyland’s promoter, Mike Pascale commented on the scheduled match saying, “We have a future world champion in Patrick Hyland, who is an exciting fighter with a 25-0 record. Boxing fans in this area have bought into Patrick as one of their own. This is a rare
opportunity for them to watch Patrick fight, up close and personal, before he moves on to larger venues pursuing his world title shot. We expect a great night of entertaining, competitive boxing on May 12th. We’ll also be showcasing some promising fighters
from the Hudson Valley market and throughout the state of New York.”
This will be Patrick ‘The Punisher’ Hyland’s fifth ever match in the United States. His last fight was in Atlantic City, in which he defeated Emmanuel Lucero via unanimous eight-round decision. Currently, Hyland is in a strong position to make an impact.
If he is able to win his upcoming match, he will definitely be among the top-notch boxers of this year, which can give him a title shot soon. As of now, his opponent is not yet known. His promoters are trying their level best to get him a title shot, however
if that does not happen this time, it certainly will happen soon. Since Hyland is a speedy young pugilist, he needs to retain his unbeaten streak to rank somewhere near Mayweather and Bradley.
