Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews ready to play in Europe in case of a lock out in NHL
Professional ice hockey players, Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews, who currently play in the National Hockey League (NHL), are ready to play in some other league in case new NHL season does not take place.
There is a possibility that there would be a lockout and new NHL season would not take place, as it did not in 2005. But even if it does happen, the players have already looked out for some others options and substitutes.
Two of the main Chicago Blackhawks’ players, Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane are all set to play in the Europe in case there is no ice hockey in North America next season. They do not have any problem in nor they mind playing it.
Both of them have been two of the most prominent names of the ice hockey world. 23-year-old Kane had started his career in 2004-2005, before being picked by the London Knights in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He scored 145 points in just 58 games, including
62 goals and 83 assists, which earned him a selection from Chicago Blackhawks in 2007.
In 3 of the last five seasons, the Buffalo, New York born player has not missed a season regular season game, playing all 82 of them and missing two in one of the years. In five years his performance has been very impressive as he has played 399 games, scored
126 goals, 243 assists for total of 369 points.
Toews has also been equally impressive as he started his career in the midget leagues and then played college hockey before being picked up by Chicago in the 2006 NHL draft’s first round.
The 24-year-old has had the honour of representing Team Canada in the World Junior Championships, Winter Olympic Games and Ice Hockey World Championship.
Like Kane, Toews also has not missed many games since making NHL debut in 2007 and has played 361 games, scored 144 goals, 180 assists and 324 total points. In international matches his performance has been also been up to the mark as he has played 25 games,
scored five goals, 15 assists for total of 20 points.
