Patrick Vieira hails boss Roberto http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323, believes Balotelli would settle with time – EPL news
Manchester City’s defensive midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrick-Vieira-c29316, has lashed out at manager Roberto Mancini’s critics, saying that the Italian should not even be quizzed upon his future at Eastlands. He added that Mancini has done everything right since he took over
from Mark Hughes and there are no reasons for him to be shown the door after all the hard work.
The French international insisted that everyone needs time to settle down and Mancini did nothing different. He said that the manager spent very wisely and has now built a formidable unit, and UEFA Champions League qualification is a proof of that. The veteran
further said that the Citizens are just a step away from clinching a domestic title after almost 35 years and reckoned that it would not have been possible without Roberto.
Critics accuse the manager of his defensive mindset, which has seen City scoring only one goal or less in 21 of the 36 games played so far. Vieira defended his manager, saying that the team was new and required time to settle down, and would surely shower
goals during the next 2011/12 season.
The former Arsenal man tried to calm the critics down and enthused, “The manager was a flair player. And I believe in the next few years he’ll want the team to play more like that. Be patient. Build like a house, they say. The foundations, the defence, the
organisation. Then you can add more. There are young players and they need to grow together. We have changed so many players and you need time to build trust and understanding.”
When quizzed upon the controversial striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mario-Balotelli-c23937, the 34-year-old said that the youngster is new to the English football and would surely be one of the prolific goal scorers for Roberto Mancini once he settles down in that environment. He admitted
that the Italian striker has had a few disciplinary issues but told that Balotelli would soon overcome them once he recognises his responsibility and role within the side.
Manchester City are just a couple of points behind Arsenal and could certainly finish above them with two more games still to be played in this year’s campaign
