Vieira has come out and added fuel to the fire that has been brewed up as a result of the war of words that has been going on between the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson and the Frenchman himself...
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 midfielder has made more comments aimed at Manchester United in the course of the on-going title race between Manchester City and the Red Devils as they won their recent tie against Fulham at Old Trafford.
United gained a 1-0 win over the Cottagers but their match was marred with controversy as Fulham had a penalty shout right at the end of the match which was turned down by the referee. At the end of the match, Sir Alex Ferguson
accepted that Fulham did deserve the penalty kick but unfortunately the referee was unable to spot the foul that took place.
Vieira has now come out and picked up on the referee’s lapse of concentration and linked it with match officials and their lack of judgement when matches including big teams such as Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United
are involved. As a former Manchester City player, the Frenchman had earlier on spoken about the weakness in United’s squad, something that was made clear due to the return of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-Scholes-c29394 to action for the Red Devils.
Vieira said, "When United play at home they get some advantage that other teams don't get. I think when you go to United, [Real] Madrid, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604, or [AC] Milan, when the referees referee these kind of games, it's always difficult
to go against these kind of teams. This is the way it is. It's something the teams who are used to winning get all the time, so we need to win games so we have this advantage in the future.”
He added that Manchester City can win the Premier League title this season by saying, "This is our moment. Since the start of the season we've been the best team and played the best football. I believe the club deserves it."
