Patrick Viera hails manager Roberto Mancini and predicts long-awaited Silverware this season
Manchester City defensive midfielder, Patrick Viera, has hailed manager Roberto Mancini for bringing continuous improvement within the club. Viera held Mancini responsible for bringing in discipline and jolting the team down as a unit, who looked all over
the place after the introduction of some new players.
The veteran midfielder admitted that Mancini is the right man for the job at Eastlands and also claimed that former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan tactician would end the club’s silverware drought. He also praised the City fans, who have remained loyal to the club through
thick and thin. The 34-year-old reckoned that the supporters have been extremely unlucky as they haven’t seen their team lifting any Silverware of late.
Viera believed that the manager has done nothing wrong at the club since taking over from Mark Hughes. He insisted that the fans would not have to wait longer for a trophy as City are just one step away from clinching a domestic title.
Manchester City are set to face Stoke City in the final of FA Cup on Saturday, May 14, at Wembley stadium. The French International claimed that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 is committed to the club and it has reflected in this year’s results. City made their way into the final
of the competition, leaving behind their rivals Manchester United, whom they defeated by a 1-0 margin. Viera confirmed that the Citizens will have to produce a similar show if they are to end City’s trophy drought.
Further commenting upon Mancini’s traits, the veteran added, “He’s really aware of the tactical aspect of the game, and he really likes the players to know what they have to do when we have got the ball or when we don’t have the ball, so he’s someone really
well prepared for the game.”
He urged the fans to be patient and keep their voices loud during the final, which will be a huge occasion for both City and Stoke.
He concluded by saying, “If people think that we’re going to win easily the FA Cup, it’s not going to be that easy. I think if we want to win the FA Cup we will have to work hard like we did against United.”
With four games left to play in the campaign, Manchester City are fourth in the Premier League with 62 points and are en route to qualifying for next year’s UEFA Champions League
