Question:

Patriots EPIC secondary problem?

With the release of Fernando Bryant along with Jason Webster, how bad do you think the Pats secondary will suck next year? They have almost zero experience at corner, and some very old legs at safety.

Does anyone believe that Ellis Hobbs is capable of playing as the starting CB on any team?

Will the secondary do to the Patriots what the Browns secondary did to them last year?

What do you guys think

  1. I think you are right. Maybe the Patriots think their strong pass rush can hide their weakness in the secondary (like the Giants last year) but this smells like trouble for New England.

As for Hobbs, he's a decent player, but not a number one corner. Ideally he'd be somebody's nickel back.

New England needs to score a lot of points this year. They're going to have to win some 35-31 games with this secondary!

  2. Epic lol.  Hobbs is more of a #2 corner than #1 but it isn't epic.  Wheatly has been impressive, the Patriots are working out a deal with Law, and they signed former coach of the year Dom Capers a man who was considered unaminously as the smartest DBs coach.

  3. they also dropped lynch but i think they will do ok the have last years first round pick merriweather out of miami & rodney Harrison so their secondary will do ok but they lost asante samuals so their corners are gonna suck

  4. I think you are right, and they just cut John Lynch... Only weakness on the team, but it is a big one. By the way, last years super bowl was my favorite NFL game ever....

  5. Yes they have a problem at this position.. with the release of those two players there is talk of the patriots trying to get a deal with Ty Law.

Elis Hobbs is capable of starting on a team.
