Patterdale Jazz still looking to carry forward trails momentum to competitive racing
Patterdale Jazz has done well in numerous trials so far in his career. Although his stats are not bad at all, the black dog needs to work on his game to carry forward the trials momentum to the competitive racing. There is no question over his skills, and
the hound is well capable of becoming a great runner.
He started his career last winter, when doing a great job in three trials. After tasting success thrice, he could not continue the great work, and finished third on his debut at the HP level.
The talented hound showed some improvement in his first open race in January. In a 480 metres contest, he captured the runner-up place with plenty of ease. Inconsistency remained an issue for him, as he did not finish the race on February 11th.
He made a fascinating trial-effort on February 21st, when claiming the first place by 5¾ lengths. Kept running well, he won another trial-event in the same month.
After doing well in the trials, the dashing hound was expected to open his account. But nothing good happened. He could only seize the second and fifth place respectively in his two appearances at the open level in March.
His unlucky journey continued in April, when he finished second to Smart Big at Peterborough. After finishing fourth in an A1 meeting at the end of April, he went on vacations.
A. Dawson’s charge made his way back to the field in mid August, when he ran like a demon in a couple of trials. Another good effort was shown by him in early September, when he beat Rotas Girl by three lengths at the T4 level.
The son of Shaneboy Lee, out of Patterdale Chloe, made four great solo outings in October. His hard work finally paid off last month, when he won an IR meeting by three and a half lengths. He built on that, and secured another marvellous victory last month.
The IT meeting saw him beating Montreen by 3¾ lengths.
Things seem to have started working well for him now. However, he still needs to raise his game to start doing well at the competitive level. His performances in the trials are undoubtedly impressive. Good luck to him.
