  1. 1. Nondisjunction- not inherited

    de novo nondisjunction in gamete.  associated with older age in mother.  

    2. Robertsonian Translocation (familial)-

    long arm of 21 is attached to another chromosome.  inherited from mother or father in an autosomal dominant like fashion.  

    3. Mosaicism- not inherited

    mutation of one cell in early development via nondisjunction again.  here some cells of the child are normal and some are "down cells."
