How can I tell a repro Patti Playpal from an original?

I have a Patti Playpal doll with cut hair, in good condition, but her arms are a bit soft, like vinyl. Is this original or a repro? Did the original have rock-hard arms or were they squeezable? I received two answers to check for marks, and now have pictures to be viewed. Her legs are very hard, but the arms are soft, and torso is pinker than her head, neck and limbs. What do you think?

There is a faint image on her neck that says Ideal Toy Corp. under a copyright symbol, then G-35, under that is H-346. On the back of the torso it says 35-5 Ideal. Thanks for very much any help.

  1. I have an original in for sale and I have consulted my Ideal book for you Patti Playpal 1960-1961 36 inches

Vinyl (they call this a blow mold) saran hair with bangs individual fingers marks ideal doll/G 35 on head Ideal Toy Corp./G-35-4/Pat.pending on body

Patti PlayPal 1959 35 inches  marked the same as above

The one I have in to be sold is marked the same and her arms are not soft, her head is softer.

There was a version with curly hair from 1959 catalog number 1550 and 1551 straight hair, this version is marked Ideal Toy Corp/G 35 or B-19-1 on head. visit the site below for more information

  2. hello i'm billi

and i did not get your name before this screen came up .

but that is an authentic patti play pal .

they released those dolls for many years in many cycles .

the last ones including shirley temple were realeased in the 80's right before the company was sold .

all reproductions would carry the reproducers mark .
