Question:

Pattypan squash bread?

I've got an over load of Pattypan squash (as well as yellow and green zucchini), and I was wondering if anyone had made zucchini bread with pattypan squash.

I need to process it soon, and if I can make bread out of it, I'll shred it, and freeze it, otherwise, I really have no idea what to do with so much of it.

Also, do you think any summer squash can be used for breads? and not just zucchini.

Thanks in advance.

  1. You could stuff them and then freeze them for later-

  2. not sure what pattypan is like but it would stand to reason that as long as you control the water content just like with zucchini it should work  mother would make a savory bread with catamala olives and egg plant with out the skin  lots of garlic  had the same texture as zucchini bread though you have to drain well try and see greatest new recipe is usually found on accident

gramma used to stew squash with tomato and garlic and cann or freeze it as well makes great sauce or soup started

shed also baked the sauce with fresh frozen green beens or broad beans  topped with parm cheese to get us to eat our veg
