Paul Campbell-James, Sung Wook Kim ready to race at Korea Match Cup: World Match Racing Tour 2011
Dream Team skipper Paul Campbell-James and the home favourite Korea’s Sung Wook Kim are ready to make a strong impact in the Korea Match Cup 2011 that will commence on Wednesday, June 8 at Jeongok Harbour in Gyeonggi
Province, Korea.
The other contenders hoping to make an impression at the race will be Reuben Corbett from New Zealand and the Mekonomen Sailing Team skipper, Bjorn Hansen. The event is the third stage of the World Match Racing Tour
2011.
Korea’s largest sporting event, Korea Match Cup 2011, will feature 12 sailing teams including former Student Match Racing Champion’s Dream Team. The sailors are ready for the first qualifying session of the event
and they are looking forward for a positive outcome.
The experienced crew of Dream Team is ready to sail on the Jeongok waters as they have come fresh from the Extreme Sailing Series. Dream Team’s skipper, Campbell-James has high hopes with his team and believes they
will do better in the qualifiers.
While talking to the reporters, the 28-year-old said, “We're the underdogs in this event and we've got nothing to lose so we're going to really stick it to the other guys. I'm particularly looking forward to taking
on Torvar and of course the all-Brit battle with Ian Williams and his Team GAC Pindar is going to be a good one.”
On the other hand, Korean sailing team of Busan Match Team is also one of the top nominees to make it out of the qualifiers. Busan Match Team skipper, Sung Wook Kim, will be eyeing to battle down the best teams in
the event.
Wook Kim said to the local reporters, “My team got two wins here at the Korea Match Cup last year so I hope to finish with at least three wins this week. My team has sailed together for a long time so we're prepared.
My wish is to beat some of the Tour Card Holders here as my long term plan is to qualify for more World Match Racing Tour events.”
