Paul Casey is expected to join the Cadillac Championship’s field
Paul Casey is expected to be in the field of the sensational event, the Cadillac Championship, scheduled to start from March 8 to 11, 2012.
The 34-year-old English professional golf player had suffered an injury while snowboarding on December 25, in Colorado.
It was the occasion of Christmas and Casey faced a dislocation of his shoulder. The accident caused him to stay away from golf.
Now, he is recovering at a fast pace and is planning to start his current season from the World Golf Championship-staged tournament at the TPC Blue Monster at Doral, Miami, in Florida.
"Golf is the most important thing in my life because it provides for everything else - the fun things I get to do away from the course," Casey said.
"One hundred per cent of my effort goes into that, but when I'm away from the course I love the snowboarding and the mountain biking," he went on.
He is passionate about golf. When he is not on the course, he fulfils his other desires of snowboarding and sometimes mountain biking as well.
Casey’s performance was average last season. He did not win any of the titles and mostly finished in the top 50.
After completing a static year, he also suffered an injury, which may affect his game to some extent.
Nonetheless, he is not worried about his shoulder dislocation. He has been training hard since December and now is able to return and deliver some massive strokes at the Floridian golf course.
"I'm stronger and fitter than I've ever been, even with the shoulder injury, and I've got the mental game that I never used to have," Casey said
He added, "I need to get the physical skills up to par and then capitalise on the next 10 years. It is prime time".
The field of the WGC-Cadillac Championship is competitive. All the leading players will play their amazing strokes in Florida.
Nick Watney is the defending champion and will be teeing off the tournament in order to retain his glory.
If Casey wants to secure a title this year, then he needs to be more impressive on different courses through the year. His injury may become a hurdle while covering long driving distances.
