Paul Collingwood raps up for his English side to clinch the World T20 - Cricket News Update

While his comments came on the heels of an http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 in the first T20I of the ongoing NatWest series, the now-Durham captain feels that the current English side is much better than the one that triumphed in the Caribbean two
years ago.
The 36-year-old became the first English skipper to deliver a global tournament triumph for his country when they defeated the Australians in the final to win the World T20 title in 2010.
"I think England are in a good place," said Collingwood. "I think they are a lot better than we were two years ago with skill levels and that's even without http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KP-Pietersen-c1806 in the side.”
Kevin Pietersen was the architect of that victory, and was declared the Man-of-the-Tournament. But the lanky batsman put his One-day career in doubt after announcing retirement from limited over format in May - for which he was subsequently dropped from
the T20 squad.
However, despite withdrawing his retirement from the limited-over format, the recent ‘text controversy’ has led to his banishment from the English side, while closing any possibility of the right-hander’s late return for World T20 championship.
On the other hand, Collingwood reckons that Poms have a good combination of match-winning players led by a good bowling attack, and must feel confident going into the mega-event. England has fared well recently, in the shortest format of the game, having
remained unbeaten in their five successive T20I series.
"http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Harold-William-Stephenson-c61707 Finn is at a level we had last time. He is a wicket-taker. I think we have another great chance. One of the biggest things in Twenty20 in a World Cup is the mental state, your confidence levels going in.”
"Hopefully they will go in with a couple of wins under their belts. Because we had this fresh wave, with players coming in – http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MJ-Lumb-c1981 – and it felt like, 'Let's go for it'," Collingwood concluded.
England falls in a tough Group A along with the former champions, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Afghanistan-c745.
