Paul Daley: I want to fight Nate Marquardt after he nails Tyron Woodley for good – UFC news
Paul Daley, one of the best mixed martial artists in America, recently made a harsh and bold statement that he desires to take on Nate Marquardt in his debut bout to put an end to his career. He further added that Nate bores fans by his unacceptable fighting
style and that men like him are cause why fans are moving away from boxing.
Paul, 29, is a versatile, energetic, and aggressive brawler who has fought many brawls in various mixed martial art promotions and is soon scheduled to make a debut in Strikeforce, the sister company of Ultimate Fighting championship.
Interestingly Nate is also making a comeback in Zuffa group’s promotion and is bound to make his debut against Tyron Woodley. Nate, infamous as ‘The Great’, faced a very tough 2011 when he was alleged for using prohibited drugs and was eventually banned
by Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission.
The decision raged UFC President Dana White who immediately rescinded Nate’s contract. Later on the Commission lifted the ban since the drugs were found to be ‘within qualifying levels’. Daley, widely known as ‘Semtex’, commented in the interview that he
wants to cleanse the welterweight division from men like Woodley and Nate.
Paul was of the view that both brawlers have a very numb brawling style, a style that is not liked and appreciated by the fan. While making a prediction that Nate will nail Woodley for good, Daley stated, “I’m going to let Nate and Woodley play out to get
Woodley out of the picture. I’d like for my first fight after I beat Misaki to be Nate Marquardt, which I definitely think is a main event.”
Paul continued and said that fans understand that both brawlers cannot put up a great, energetic fight and love to wrestle instead of throwing powerful jabs to injure the opponent. Daley stated, “[Fans] know Woodley's game is to come out and wrestle and
just point-score and be that boring kind of fighter, and fans are slowly turning away from that kind of fighter.”
The former number one welterweight contender, Paul said that he is happy at the fact that Nate is brawling Tyron since he will take him out easily and then there will be only two men he and Nate adding that he wants to get another shot at the welterweight
title.
Paul is scheduled to take on Kazuo Misaki in a non-title brawl on Strikeforce 39 which will be on aired on March 3, 2012 from Nationwide Arena situated in Columbus, Ohio, USA.
