Paul Farbrace has said that the Kent County Club is more important than the individual players, and wishes the side well. He voiced these sentiments soon after stepping down as the Club’s Director of Cricket, a designation Farbrace held for almost two years.
With a year still left on his contract, Farbrace finally decided to step down from his post, after it was learnt that the County team’s officials remained indecisive on the Farbrace’s future with the Club.

After his release from the club, Farbrace refused to comment on the abrupt statement released by the officials on Wednesday and stated that, “There is not a lot I want to add. I genuinely and sincerely hope that the county go and do well because a lot of
time and effort has been put in and good things have happened.”
“It is not about any individuals, it is about the club, looking to the future and I wish them well. I hope to going away for two weeks to relax before start to look for a new role in the game elsewhere,” Farbrace added.
The former Kent cricketer also said that he had a decent tenure with his home side, and had a pleasure working with the players.
While for Kent’s Chairman, George Kennedy, the head stated that he was personally very sorry to see Farbrace leave, especially after developing a long association with the County side, where he did not only serve as an official but also as a player.
Having worked with the Sri Lankan national team as their assistant coach for two years, Farbrace joined his home town, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kent-c802, in 2009 on a 3-year contract.
As for his moderate cricketing spell, Farbrace participated for Kent and then http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Middlesex-c817, playing 40 first-class matches, out of which, the wicket-keeper batsman earned a total of 711 runs at an average of 18.23.
With Kent left without a Director of Cricket, the management has not made any announcement for new hiring but is likely to discuss on the matter in their upcoming, Friday’s committee meeting.
