Pirelli motorsport director, Paul Hembery has said that they are fully ready for the new challenge of providing the tyre compound for the Circuit of Americas regardless of the fact that track for the United States Grand Prix is yet to be opened.
Hembery said that they are facing no issues to stimulate the characteristics of the circuit. Although, he said that they are currently in the same situation as they were during the last year before the Indian GP but they are feeling more confident about
their understanding regarding the new track.
Moreover, he said that they know very well that it is extremely hard to develop a compound for a completely new circuit as compared to the existing ones. Nonetheless, he insisted that they are fully motivated and ready for the tremendous track. Additionally,
he said that they will come up with hard and medium tyres.
“There's no doubt that preparing for a circuit that is completely new is more difficult than going to one of the established venues,” Hembery said. “However, we now feel fully ready for this magnificent track, where we will bring the P Zero Silver hard and
P Zero White medium tyres.”
In addition, he said that currently they are using some extraordinary techniques to make precise projections about the new race venues. Besides, he admired the efforts of all the engineers who have worked so hard for the preparations.
“The technology and know-how that we have at our disposal means that we can forecast some very accurate predictions without actually having raced at a circuit these days, thanks to the preparation work from our engineers,” he added.
It will be important to mention that many drivers which mainly include, Michael Schumacher of Mercedes have criticised this year’s Pirelli tyres which wear out too early.
Besides, tyre management has played a crucial in the season until now and many contenders have been seen struggling with the issue of degradation. Nevertheless, it is expected that the next year’s tyres by the Italian company will be better and will provide
