Paul Heyman for Brock Lesnar: He is the baddest dude on the planet – UFC News
Paul Heyman, Brock Lesnar’s on-air WWE representative, believes Lesnar is the ‘baddest dude on the planet’ whether it is about wrestling or mixed martial artists. Speaking to MMAJunkie.com regarding Brock Lesnar’s possible induction to UFC Hall of Fame,
Heyman asserted that Lesnar achieved it all in less time than most UFC fighters, which is the reason why he should be inducted in the Hall of Fame.
“You saw the speed, the size and improvement in every fight, and then this disease took everything away from him,” said Heyman.
“You can see just how fragile an athlete's life is and why athletes need to make so much money as fast as they can and never say, 'I have 15 years on the contract.' Because they don't have 15 years on the contract. You have today on the contract because
if you get injured today, tomorrow ain't gonna happen.”
Heyman asserted that unlike others, Brock Lesnar fought the best of UFC right from the start.
Lesnar joined the UFC in 2008 at UFC 81: Breaking Point. Lesnar’s first fight was against former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir. The former WWE champion secured an early takedown on Mir. However, his one point was deducted for striking the back head
of Mir. Later on the in the show, Mir locked the kneebar on Lesnar, forcing the former WWE star to submit.
Lesnar’s next opponent was Heath Herring at UFC 87: Seek and Destroy. Lesnar was able to score an early knockout in the first round with a huge right. Lesnar won the fight via unanimous decision. Lesnar’s third opponent was UFC heavyweight champion Randy
Couture at UFC 91: Couture vs. Lesnar, which took place on November 15. Shockingly, Lesnar defeated Couture in round 2 via TKO, becoming the UFC heavyweight champion.
While Lesnar’s era in the UFC was short, Heyman believes he proved his mettle in just a couple fights, when other fighters do the same in a lifetime.
“Five and three? But look at the five – and look at the three,” asserted Heyman, pointing out that Lesnar defeated and was defeated by the best in the business.
