Paul Hunter Foundation thanks WPBSA for fund raising campaign – Snooker News
Snooker governing body across the globe, World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association has always been very helpful to different charity organisations. The association raised funds for different foundations through arranging specific campaigns.
The association is one of the major donors of Haven House Children’s Hospice and the Paul Hunter Foundation as they have raised a lot of money for the organisations.
Recently in the new snooker season, all major guns of World Snooker organised a marathon in order to raise funds for the Paul Hunter Foundation (PHF) charity organisation, which was established by the name of legendary potter Paul Hunter. Before the Sheffield
Marathon, the organisation was also given charity funds that were raised during the proceedings of the 2012 World Snooker Championship.
So far from both initiatives, the Paul Hunter Foundation has raised £26,000. The Sheffield Marathon was run on Paul Hunter Day where the likes of former six-time World Snooker Champion, Steve Davis, Dennis Taylor and former World Snooker Championship winner
Shaun Murphy took part. After getting this raise of funds, the PHF has thanked the participants who took that initiative and helped the organisation.
While speaking to World Snooker, PHF trustee Brandon Parker said, “On behalf of the Foundation I would like to thank everyone who has helped and contributed to raising this fantastic amount of money in a short space of time. The future still looks very bright
for all those kids who want a helping hand in developing sporting routes into snooker.”
He added, “Particular thanks go to Chris Lovell who has worked tirelessly during the preparation, presentation and conversation of these events with the BBC, World Snooker, the PHF trustees, together with the fund raisers and participants of each event.”
Parker further added that the Paul Hunter Foundation is keen to support Chris in reaching their goals. The PHF has been working tremendously from the beginning of the initiative and has completed many charity projects. Meanwhile, the WPBSA is also determined
to play their part in the fund raising campaigns as they have been doing it in the past.
World Snooker Chairman, Barry Hearn regularly visits the Haven House Charity Hospice and the PHF office in order to show a supportive gesture.
