  4. I was saddened and shocked to hear of Paul's death last night at a time a lot of people thought he was beating the disease.

Paul was as corageous and brave as he was as good a snooker player. He was surley destined to become a future world champion and his hat-trick of Masters titles should surely go down as one of the sports greatest achievements.

    R.I.P Paul

  10. Paul was one of the " boy " snooker players that visited the Hotel where i worked in the mid nineties. We used to hold all the early rounds for the competitions that eventually went on to be screened on the TV. I knew him when he first started entering the competitions and he was a typical lad let loose, enjoying himself. Even in those days he showed his talent and we knew he would go on to bigger and better things. I feel sad to have lost a lad that i saw grow into the talent he became and my heart goes out to his family...........................

He was a brilliant young up-and-coming player, cruelly taken from us much too soon.

    He will be deeply missed.

In the Daily Mirror today, Jimmy White is quoted as saying the Wembley Masters tournament, which Paul won 3 times, should be renamed in his memory.

The last paragraph reads "White said: 'It would be nice for his memory to live on in the game - and what better place than at the Masters where Paul really made his name.' "
