Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has asked for patience from Villa supporters and fans and said that it will take time to get things right at the club.
Villa have not secured a point from either of their Premier League games so far. For a team that is looking to improve on last season’s poor run in, they don’t paint a convincing picture.
The club started off the season with an away game at Upton Park against West Ham United and lost to the Hammers in a 1-0 score line. This was not a big area of concern for the manager since Villa showed glimpses of what they can do and new signings Brett
Holman, Karim El-Ahmadi and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ron-Vlaar-c31697 were impressive.
Villa lacked some oil in their creative engine and failed to create many chances for striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-c29347 Lambert recognized this and called for more creativity against Everton last weekend. Everton at home was a tough test, especially considering
how they defeated Manchester United at home in the first week.
They ended up losing to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 in a disappointing result which saw the team concede 3 goals and score 1 towards the end. Villa looked like their former self; the team that had managed only 4 home wins last season and had narrowly avoided relegation.
Lambert insists that there is no need to panic, and that Villa will need time to get better. The manager did however recognize the fact that he needs to bring in two more players to make the team stronger as a unit.
"There's no magic wand. That's why I never got caught up in the euphoria of it because I know what it's like," Lambert told reporters.
"It's not a quick fix, I know that myself, but it's something where you don't want to be left behind, you want to try and win as many games as you can."
"We have to start to win – that's first and foremost, whether you have the players or not. The chairman, Paul and I will have a conversation and we'll see what happens.”
"I've got ideas in my head. If something becomes available and I think it's worthwhile, then we can look at it."
