Paul Lawrie and Bubba Watson tied at the 47th position
The most awaited major of the year, the U.S PGA Championship is in full swing. The stage for this prestigious event is the Kiawah Island Golf Resort, the Ocean Course. The major teed off on the 9th of August and after four days of magnificent
golf, it is going to end on the 12th of August.
Two days of the major are already over and the fans are getting their money’s worth. This course is proving to be a real challenge for the players. The course is hard and the weather conditions are not even helping.
The elite golf players of the world are struggling at this tournament. The list of struggling players at this event also includes Paul Lawrie and Bubba Watson.
Both the players had quite similar game to each other and presently are tied on the forty seventh position with seven other players.
On the first day, Paul Lawrie managed to score two birdies but he also scored three bogeys. These made his score one-over par for the day. At the end of first round, Lawrie was tied at the sixty sixth spot.
His second day was even worse. He had a very bad start to the front nine. He carded three bogeys on the front nine of the second round on the first, fourth and sixth hole. On the back nine, he scored a birdie and a bogey on the sixteenth and eighteenth hole,
respectively.
As a result, Lawrie’s score for the day became three-over par and his total score climbed up to four-over par.
Bubba Watson did not have much luck in the tournament. On the first day, he carded three bogeys and just two birdies. These made his score one-over par of the day. Like Lawrie, at the end of first day, Watson was also tied on the sixty sixth spot.
The front nine of the second day was very eventful. He carded three bogeys and only two birdies. On the back nine, he carded three more bogeys and a birdie. These made his score three-over par for the day and his total score climbed up to four-over par.
Both the players are eight strokes behind the leader and need something extraordinary in the coming two days.
